About Delights

In 2018, Sam Fino and Alan Willett set out to solve a problem they kept running into: it was surprisingly hard to find pastries that were simple, made with real ingredients, and didn't try to be more than they needed to be. They wanted to pair that with espresso worth ordering — Sam's husband, Maurizio, is Italian, and from day one they knew illy had to be part of the brand.

So they built it themselves. With family and friends pitching in, Sam and Alan physically built the truck from the ground up — and Delights Dessert & Coffee has run on that same hands-on spirit ever since.

So much of what's out there is priced higher than it has to be. This is our livelihood, but we don't think you should have to spend a lot to enjoy something wonderful. We'd rather you walk away already looking forward to your next visit than wondering if it was worth what you paid.

Meet the Owners

Sam Fino

As a Charleston native, I've worked in the hospitality business for 15 years in every kind of role — from management to learning the floor as a server to working back of house in the kitchen, because I genuinely wanted to understand this industry from every angle. I studied hospitality because I believe a great experience is just as important as great food, and that philosophy has shaped everything about the way we run Delights. I love having regulars, making connections, and getting to know all types of people over a common love of coffee and pastries. Owning and operating this truck has given me the freedom to be there for my two daughters, Camilla and Mia, and enjoy my family — including my husband Maurizio — on my own terms, and I am so grateful for that.

Alan Willett

Sam's business partner, and family in every way that matters. He and Sam worked together long before Delights existed, and he officiated Sam and Maurizio's wedding — their kids call him uncle.

Growing up in a German household, I spent my childhood in the kitchen with my grandparents — learning early that food made from scratch, with good ingredients and a lot of love, is something people never forget. After playing college football for the Georgia Bulldogs (Go Dawgs! 🐾) and serving in the Navy, I spent 35 years in the hospitality industry working my way up from manager to General Manager to Area Manager, and eventually becoming an owner myself. I love taking care of our regulars and meeting people who enjoy what we do: making excellent pastries and desserts, alongside our amazing illy espresso. My son Josh even helped us build this truck from the ground up — this one runs in the family.
